Ok, so the reason why I gave this place all 5 stars is due to the fact that Bullhead City and Laughlin are both lacking in overall quality restaurants and this is the spot that sort of stands out above the rest. Although I've been spoiled living in southern CA, having so many good options for sushi and Japanese food in general, Maki Sushi to me is pretty damn good. Our server was extremely helpful and tended to my family very well. The sushi chef was very funny and entertaining. The food overall was very good, clean and fresh. I will say that the rolls are massive, so a few will feed two adults no problem. We will be back for sure.

Amazing sushi! Awesome service! FYI rolls are huge! Order half of what u would normally get!!! My boyfriend and I usually eat ayce in California, but the portions here will totally surprise you. We normally order at least 5 rolls between the both of us. Here we ordered 4 rolls and were only able to finish two! We were greeted as soon as we got in the place! It was an awesome experience. The waitress was very helpful with anything we needed. She told us the portions here were very big, and I was thinking "yeah ok" lol ... But she was not joking! The rolls were 3'times was normal rolls would be! You cannot even pick up the roll with a chopstick it's so huge! Overall: awesome atmosphere & great food!

We came here on our way home from regatta, I'm a newbie when it comes down to eating sushi and am super picky. This place had a wonderful atmosphere, the waitress was so nice and Gregory was the best. I will defiantly be coming back here next regatta!!!

I use to eat here all the time when I lived in bullhead. I decided to eat here again while I was back in town. It USE to be really good. Yesterday I ordered two crunchy rolls & they were extremely fishy! I don't like raw sushi. That is why I always order COOKED rolls. I advised our server that it was very fishy. Our server advised the owner & the OWNER refuses to fix it, take it off our bill, or allow us to replace it by ordering something else. She said her rules are if you order it you pay for it. Very sad that their that desperate for money now. The owner couldn't even tell us herself. She refused to come out and talk with us. When I refused to pay for something I only took a bite out of and another rolll i didnt even touch. She stuck her head out from around corner and yelled acrossed the restaurant that she's calling the police!! I ended up paying 30 dollars for food that I didn't even eat. This place use to be very family & welcoming now they don't care about anything besides money not even making their guest happy. I will never eat here again.

Amazing sushi, some say it's too pricey, but the portions are massive, and the service and atmosphere make it well worth it. The chef is awesome and bought us a second round of sake. He always comes to your table to ask how we're enjoying our food and to chit-chat if he's not busy making sushi. Sometimes the server is a little iffy, but the girl who served us this time was nice and friendly. I always recommended this place to my customers that are from out of town, and whenever I'm craving sushi, I go to Maki.

Fresh fish, helpful and knowledgeable server, awesome chef. We are celiac and after a small misunderstanding, the chef cheerfully remade our Red Dragon Roll with no eel sauce . The snow crab, mackerel and white tuna were awesome and waitress Vanessa is on top of her game.

The sushi chef Greg is really friendly. Each roll included miso soup and salad. Samauri steakhouse shushi rolls (located a little further down hwy 95) are of equal cost and do not include these things. I had a baked salmon roll and it was delicious! Waitress checked on us regularly. I am so taken with this place that I now visit at least once a week. Cant get enough of the deliciousness.

The sushi was ok the service was CRAP! Not just the service but apparently someone was high as a kite and sky rocketed the prices for like one night. I treated my friend to dinner one night thinking it would be $60 bucks max. Not only did we get charged $4 for warm tap water but it wasnt even a free refill type thing. We racked up $16 just in freakin water!! Wtf! Ordered a rainbow roll and it was ok but when the bill came it ended up being almost 30 just in that roll. Long story short my bill was just shy $150. Wish i could give less then a star. These people are crooks.

By far one of the best restaurants in Bullhead City. The sushi is excellent, but the Chef is AMAZING. Very Friendly and the quality is phenomenal for being in a tiny town in the middle of the desert. I have only had better fish and seafood in San Francisco. The Service is quick for a quality sushi place, and the servers where very pleasant. It is a little pricey but they portions are large. The only problem is a lot of the rolls are too big to eat piece by piece which is silly in my opinion, but the Sushi Chef will make excellent recommendations to your requests. Great Place!! Please support this Local Business, the best dining experience in the entire Bullhead/Laughlin area.

There are only 2 sushi restaurants in Bullhead City and one of them is actually a teppenyaki restaurant that serves sushi. Maki Sushi is the real deal. Very comparable to some of the best sushi places in Las Vegas. Huge portions and fresh fish. Never had old fish or a bad experience here. The miso soup is good as well as the the green salad with the delicious house made ginger dressing. My father in law loves the the seaweed salad and my mother in law loves the tempura vegetables. The Hawaiian roll, Green Dragon roll, and Firecracker roll are all delicious. My favorite dish there is called monkey brains. They are crab stuffed button mushrooms that are tempura fried, drizzled with eel sauce and sriacha. So good!!! The place is clean and the staff is always friendly. The owner/sushi chef is a very nice guy. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Best gyoza in town! I ordered the teriyaki chicken dish which was good, but nothing too special. The chicken had great flavor but lacked in quality. I'm not sure what kind of rice they server, but I definitely jasmine rice. They serve a fresh cold orange with the dish which was delicious and super sweet. Great service! Everyone was very nice and the waitress was very attentive.

This place is a true gem just down the road from Las Vegas, I had the best Miso soup I've ever had... The sushi was fresh and delicious, the atmosphere was great, prices are very affordable and the owner/chef was a super friendly guy. I'd recommend anybody who's on vacation in Las Vegas to make this part of your experience... Bullhead City is a small, charming, beautiful city on the Colorado River... a great change of pace from the crowds of Las Vegas's strip.

Food was okay, service was good, but they charged 12% sales tax. NOT good! We will not be going back because of this reason. Check your receipts people.

When Maki Sushi first opened my grandmother used to take me every year on my birthday. Now that I'm an adult, she takes my sister and I take my husband! The sushi chef is seriously amazing (he's a super nice guy), and the waitresses are always attentive and polite. The food is delicious. Seriously. If that wasn't enough, the portions are HUGE. I'm a big girl and I put away a lot of sushi at most places. I love eating here because I don't have to spend a fortune to get full. My husband and I enjoy exploring the menu, and I'm really looking forward to the time when my son is ready to try sushi. If you want decently priced, good quality sushi with amazing staff (and a pretty darn good miso soup), and large portion sizes then this is definitely the place for you. I know I'm always looking forward to my next visit!

Maki Sushi has the best sushi in Bullhead City, if not all of AZ! Gregory, the sushi chef, is awesome. You definitely get a large portion of food. The rolls are huge. If you like spicy- try the spicy tuna salad. Anything you order here is fresh and amazing! Don't waste your time across the street at Samurai.

If you are looking for GREAT sushi and a nice, cozy home setting, then Maki Sushi is where you need to be! Chef Gregory is AWESOME, the menu offers many, many options (everyone, even a non-sushi person will find something great to eat!). All the staff are great and they really care about you as a guest. I spent time in Japan during my military service and Maki Sushi is like being right back in the best of the best sushi bars across Japan. Coming through town on 95 (from the AZ/NV bridge), just keep going until you go through the intersection at the Safeway market. It's on your left at the curve, right before Hastings Books. It may look small on the outside, but the food is GREAT on the inside!!! I hope to get back to my regular schedule there after the holidays!!! I miss it!! Michele B.

I am so happy to have found this little gem after moving from LA with so many amazing options for sushi. The owner/sushi chef always has great recommedations and makes the experience a lot of fun! We have really enjoyed everything we have tried so far, My favorite is the albacore. Going back for my bday dinner and cant wait!

This place does not holdback when it comes to giving you food, they have large portions. I came here when I was on vacation jet skiing on the river. It was a cool place to come unwind. Wish they had a seafood udon and the rolls cut thinner. I would come hear again.

This place has the best sushi in the Bullhead-Laughlin area. The sushi in Laughlin is okay, but the rolls are small. At Maki Sushi the rolls are huge and average about a dollar or two cheaper than the other sushi restaurants in the area. I usually order sushi rolls here so I don't know about their other entrees. This restaurant is extremely clean and they keep the kitchen very organized. Gregory, their sushi chef, is very nice and even though he doesn't speak much english he is super friendly and will suggest the best rolls for you if you aren't sure what to order.

  • Andy C.

Walked in with a bottle of gluten-free soy sauce not sure what to expect. The outside belies the welcoming atmosphere of both the ambiance and Gregory, the proprietor. Sampled the white tuna, snow crab and mackerel while eagerly awaiting our "Red Dragon" roll. The fish was impressively fresh (being that it's Bullhead City, of course) and the experience reassuring. Gregory and the server, Vanessa, were more than accommodating for two gluten-sensitive diners, checking to make sure each ingredient was not going to kill us. Do not be fooled by its location, you can dine here with confidence!

Went to Maki Sushi recently. I was greeted happily by the chef at the door. The place was empty so I chose a quiet, little table in the corner. I ordered sashimi 9 piece all salmon and an order of masago sushi style. The masago was served really different than any other place I had visited. I never thought to put seaweed around the piece, crimp it like a dish and serve. So much easier to eat. Good show Maki Sushi. Unfortunately, my sashimi was very cold. I could taste it had been frozen and still had ice in it. When the fish is warmer, just a bit, the taste is so much better. I was a little disappointed. The chef came over and I told him it was very cold. He pologized profusely. He was very nice and my waitress was pleasant. I am giving them the rating because they were very pleasant people.
